Andrea Catalano

Executive Director

Following her passion for social justice and public health, Andrea has worked in both the public and private sector. She lived and worked more than five years in Latin America and the Caribbean and has a deep admiration for the region and its people. Andrea holds a Master of Public Health from Emory University. 

Otoniel Mecinas

Social Media & Outreach Manager

Otoniel was a participant in Centro de Esperanza Infantíl from age 12 until his graduation from the university. He has a degree in TIC engineering. He is a native and resident of Oaxaca, where he and works on communication projects and social media content. Otoniel is bilingual.

Andrea Billingsley

Accounting Clerk

As accounting clerk, Andrea has been responsible for our accounting since 2012. She processes all donations, provides contribution acknowledgments, reconciles financial records, and prepares financial statements. Andrea lives in Arkansas.

Laurie Thompson

Consultant

Laurie supports outreach and visibility efforts. Laurie holds a Master’s Degrees in Social Sciences (Anthropology). After a career in Boston, Laurie made Oaxaca her home in 2005. She also works as an editor, translator, yoga instructor and photographer.

Lisette Gaeta

Project Coordinator

Leveraging her experience working in nonprofits and at the intersection of education and social justice, Lisette provides programmatic support. She is Mexican-American and an advocate committed to addressing systemic inequities and empowering individuals.
